Grated Coconut :1 cup
Green chilly :4-5 or as required
Roasted Chana daal /Dhalia /Puttukadala :2 tsp
Shallots /Small Red onions : 3-4
Ginger : 1 inch piece
For Tempering :
Dry red chill : 2-3
Coconut oil : 2 tsp
Asafotida/Hing/Kayam : a pinch
Mustard seeds : 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Method of Preparation :
1. Grind grated coconut,shallots,ginger,green chilies,dhalia/chana daal and salt in a blender to make a fine paste by adding water.
2. Heat oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds,dry red chilly and curry leaves.
3. Pour grounded mixture into it and heat it in a low flame. Don’t let it boil…Serve with Idli, Dosa or with any south Indian breakfast and Enjoy!
