Fried Fish Masala Rice Recipe |Varutha Meen Masala Choru & Cucumber Tomato Raita Recipe

Don’t you just love when a meal comes together in one pot?

I know I do! I serve this yummy yet simple fried fish and rice one pot meal with a side salad.

Back home in Kerala, among non-vegetarians, dishes of fish are most preferred ones. Yes, we the keralities are die-hard carnivores and fish for us is a staple. Be it deep fried, curried, grilled, baked.  It’s healthy and  very convenient side dish.

Today I am sharing a recipe of ‘Fried  Fish Masala Rice’..though it sounds and looks like Fish Briyani /Meen Biryani, but it taste quite different and very easy to prepare. Fish fillets seasoned with a fine flavorful combination of spices, fried and then combined with spicy masala and rice. The combination of spices gives it a unique flavor. I adapted this recipe from  Lakshmi Nair cookery show.

I had this recipe marked to try for a long time but continually passed over it. Finally I decided to just give it a go, and in no time, this dish has become one of my favorites: simple, fast, healthy, delicious.

This one pot meal makes the perfect dish to serve company. Or just whip it up for your family! Bon Appetit!
